MAD & A GOAT is a two-women show about one woman who, to free herself from college debt, joins a Wyoming goat farm she inherits from her occult-leader birth parents. There is seduction. There is beer. There are biscuits. And let’s not forget about the goats.

"At every split second in this hour-long yarn they are coordinated, calibrated, meticulous and entirely in sync...these women are reading one another's minds, finishing sentences and thoughts, moving in a tandem far closer than identical twins. Theirs is a delicious bravado performance...And they tell it all in the first person with Diana Small's witheringly ironic humor and bizarre accumulation of incident. This piece is a treat, both for the highly accomplished staging and for the story..." Michael Meigs of CTX Live Theatre |
"Paige Tautz and Heather Johnson give commanding, utterly in-sync performances as the shared main character, as well as hilariously biased representations of the other characters in the story. An exhaustingly physical show, Mad & a Goat is told in equal parts narration and movement. It offers situations on the brink of farce and an intimate connection with a melodramatic, conniving character. Exciting and raw, the play gives the audience permission to laugh at the darkness of human nature and find absurdity in the tepid evil and mild disaster of the average existence."
